Solvent Base for Making Incense and Scent Products

Dipropylene Glycol LO (DPG LO) is a Perfume Grade organic chemical compound that is found in most fragrances, perfumes and scent based products.  It is used as a solvent to bind and carry essential oils or fragrances and allow them to be used in making incense.  DPG LO provides excellent co-solvency for water, oils and hydrocarbons, with minimal odor, low skin irritation potential, low toxicity and consistent scent distribution, making it ideal for use in and blended with other ingredients to make commercial perfumes, personal care scent products, deodorant sprays, and body mists.

• Incense:  2 parts Dipropylene Glycol to 1 part Essential Oil or Fragrance Oil
• In Perfume usage is between 4% and 70% depending on whether it is an alcohol based perfume or and alcohol free body scent product.  Many cultures discourage the use of alcohol in their perfumes so a higher level of DPG LO is used to act as a solvent for the essential oils and fragrance compounds.
